FULL TRANSPARENCY: HOW WE ARE FUNDED

Our services are broken down into 2 categories:

• FREE Services: Crisis and Traumatic Event Response
• FEE Services: Training, Team Building, Relationship Enrichment, 24/7 On-Call Response, Retainer for On-Going Care

Our crisis, trauma, and suicide post-vention support services are FREE of charge to any organization. These are short-term interventions to help people process the crisis, provide resources, and guide them to the path of wellness. If you are pleased with our service, donations (tax deductible) are gladly accepted, but not expected.  PHILOS Support Services is a non-profit organization.  The care professionals are hand-picked for being experts in their field and are 100% volunteers.  However, there are operating expenses in running this program which needs funding.  The donations go towards: 

• Funding to help other organizations that are in crisis
• Supporting our nominal operating costs
• Recruiting and training new volunteers
• Providing funds for food, travel and accommodations should our team get called to support an organization or disaster out of town

In essence, your donation is "paying it forward" to support other people and organizations so they too can take advantage of the support and services PHILOS offers.  

There is a FEE if your organization is wanting to take advantage of our training or on-going programs we offer: 

• Crisis planning
• Soul Spring resilience enrichment
• Suicide prevention/intervention 
• Team building 
• Relationship enrichment
• 24/7 on-call response
• Retainer for on-going care and training
• Sexual assault/harassment mitigation
• Active shooter training and drills

There are 3 reasons for this:

1. It costs time and money to buy materials, print, and develop the training agenda to meet your specific requirements.  

2. Our professionals are experts in their field.  You are getting top-notch training from experienced, proven professionals.  They deserve a donation/offering for their time and what they bring to the table.  

3. What is left over goes back to funding our FREE crisis response program to support other organizations that are in need.

We recognize our funding model is a bit wonky.  Sure, we can rely on outside donations (which are greatly appreciated), but the idea behind this model is to perpetuate a self-funding model where the FEE services fund and support the FREE services. When organizations take advantage of our FEE services, they are not only getting top-shelf training that helps improve the stewardship and care of their people, they are also blessing other organizations that are in crisis and are in need of help from our FREE services. 

Then, what we do is let the organization we are supporting in crisis know that the funding for our services came from your organization, and in-turn, we let you know which organization your FEE and/or donation went to so you know that it was put to good use.  What this does is builds a movement of care, reciprocity, and "paying it forward" where organizations are helping other organizations across this great state.
